Reading and listening skills are very beneficial for someone who is learning a new language. The more the student reads, the higher his or her writing skills will get. The more the learner listens, the better he or she can understand what other people say. With this in mind, I consider that teaching receptive skills to the student is vital for language acquisition. Unit 11 describes how we read and listen as well as define some problems that the students may encounter with these activities. As a teacher, we have the responsibilities to choose carefully all texts and vocabulary that we are going to teach. Elaborating two lesson plans in this unit as a final task was undoubtedly useful to put into practice a bit of the knowledge acquired.
