There are discussions about planning lessons. On one side, planning lessons is good to know what activities you’ll carry out with the students according to what you expect them to learn, to check if you have enough material for the time the class will take (or not enough), to have a record of what you have already done with you students (if you need to check when you are planning future lessons or if you get ill and a substitute teacher replaces you), etc. On the other side, if you plan lessons too much, these can be rigid and teacher-centered.
