What I have learnt in this first unit of the course is that both the teacher and learner have different characteristics that will be shown in their performances in the classroom. These characteristics will influence how subjects are taught (in the case of the teacher) and how the information is recieved (in the case of the learner). The teachers have a set of roles they can use in the classroom and it's their responsability to identify when to use them in order to give a good lecture or devise an activity. On the other hand, students also have different categories which shows the possible motivation or interest in learning English.
What I think it's the most important aspect of being a teacher and a learner is the motivation. The teacher needs to be able to motivate with his/her teaching while the student needs to be motivated to learn English in the best way possible. If the student is not motivated, the teacher has the responsability of get that motivation our from the student.
