Unit 10 contains two different versions of video lessons to demonstrate the difference in effectiveness of a teacher, especially due to a teacher's attitude. In the first video, the teacher does not seem very engaged with his students and does not have very good rapport with them. He seems frustrated and the students do not seem to understand the lesson or want to participate. The teacher makes it seem like the concept is simple and that they shouldn't have any issues with it, so the students are reluctant to try for fear of making mistakes. The teacher doesn't really monitor the students while they're doing work and clear instructions and explanations are not given. In the second video, the teacher smiles, engages with the students, learns their names, and is generally much more upbeat and positive. The teacher speaks more slowly and clearly, uses pictures and gestures, and the students are much more open to participating actively. The teacher gives a completed example for the activate stage activity, so the students will understand the task more clearly.
