This Unit is about Theories, Methods and Techniques.
There are eight catalogues of methodologies. Sometimes teachers should mingle several methodologies to make students more interested in class. Whatever methodology we use?we should bear in mind that students need an exposure to language as much as possible, and students need a certain amount of input from the teacher. Besides, the teacher should encourage students and lower their anxiety and stress.
The main part of the unit is ESA: Engage, Study and Activate. There are many parts in every stage. I learned that for low level students, at Engage stage , word linking or alphabet relay is useful for me to warm up. And I don't need to teach new things in this part. There are many activities at Study stage, such as crosswords, gap fill, word searches. At Activste stsge, role play is an interesting interaction, students can practice the new language in a practical way. As teachers, we also should give students proper feedback and correction. When and how we give correction is very important. Moreover, what feedback and correction we give students is necessary.
