Unit 7 has taught me how to go about planning English lessons structure. Lessons need to be planned and carried out in such a way that they satisfy specific criteria and teach the students particular things about the topics in question. Language structures, grammar and vocabulary lessons can be constructed using the ESA methodology, as often this method covers: word meaning, usage, spelling, pronunciation, interaction and grammar (If carried out correctly and structuring lessons accordingly, while bearing in mind your classes level of English understanding and choosing content accordingly to match the level of understanding of the class). Lessons should prove to teach students effectively. However each lesson for various language topics (vocabulary, language structure or grammar) will differ in structure (either be approached with straight line, boomerang or patch work structures). The various activities for each stage/phase of that lesson must also be chosen appropriately, as they will determine how well the students manage to grasp and absorb language concepts, which are aimed at being taught.
