This unit focused on ways the teacher can promote the development of students writing and speaking skills, as well as activities relevant to this and how to effectively structure activities around topics etc.
within this unit i found the sections on guidelines for creative speaking and ways to increase student participation particularly useful, as in my experience with large fairly unmotivated classes spurring interaction is often quite challenging. I hope to apply some of the skills i learned here to ease this process.
Similarly, from a personal standpoint the section on the importance of writing, particularly the area of creative writing is very interesting. In my own language studies I have often shied away from writing on account of its time consuming nature, but this unit showed me some of the benefits of it, and I look forward to applying some of the learnings to myself and experimenting to see what works.
