This unit covered the manner in which teachers should introduce new vocabulary, grammar and language uses to learners of the English language. It also covered possible activities to be held in each stage of an lesson.
In this unit, I found the Information on what students specifically need to know about new vocabulary, grammar and usages particularly useful and easy to relate to. My language study has often been hampered by a poor understanding of exactly what I should be targeting while learning, and so this was interesting and helpful both on a personal level and in relating to students and their struggles.
Similarly as usual the examples of a good lesson structure were useful, easy to remember and well thought out, but I found this unit to be fairly lazily constructed compared to earlier units, relying on lists stating key words, with little context or explanation. This hampered my comprehension of some of the topic and i would hope that in a future refresh this unit is fleshed out, using more examples to make meanings clear. this would likely also help students understand more clearly the intended takeaways from this unit.
