From this lesson, I've learned receptive skills include reading and listening.They are equally important to English study.Also,the reasons and motives for reading and listening are divided into two categories: for a purpose or for entertainment.In order to give a good receptive skills lesson, we need to use a variety of topics to equally cater all students and create interest to motivate students and get them engaged.Also, by using comprehension tasks to promote understanding rather than just check understanding. Apart from above, we need to carefully choose the texts, whether students are good for an authentic text or non-authentic text. Pre-teaching vocabulary is also a very important step of receptive skills lesson, this will remove some of the obstacles that students are likely to meet.
