Unit nine focused around lesson planning which requires three key functions, which include setting goals at the beginning of a lesson, using a working document to guide the lesson and keep it focused, and keeping a record of what the class has done and what materials were used. This unit included an outline to making a lesson plan, which should be created with the principles of simplicity, structure, balance and flexibility. The importance of organization is stressed and in order to keep a fluidity to the lesson teachers should run through their lessons prior, check that equipment is working and prepare for unexpected questions. Overall, lesson plans should be formed keeping in mind; learning objectives, personal aims, language points, procedure, timing, interactions, number of students and more. Within this unit, lesson plan forms are given which keep the lesson plan organized with a visual representation of the lesson that includes all notes necessary for the teacher. Additionally included are self evaluation forms for the teacher to monitor the quality of their lessons, which will allow them to improve lesson points later on. Not only do individual lessons need to be made but sequences of lessons should correlate with each other to aid in language retention. i
