In this unit, I learned the importance of lesson plan. Lesson plan can be an aid to planning, a working document and a record. It is very important to have a lesson plan since it is very difficult for a inexperienced teacher to be flexible. A lesson plan can be revised, it is not fixed. Even you have the lesson plan, you must still remember to be flexible and responding to student needs. I also learned that, we must keep it simple for a lesson plan since we might need to refer to it during teaching. Before, I always tried to be detailed but then I realized when teaching, we really don't have the time to truly read it. So I will make it simple and understanable for me to refer to when necessary. I also learned that, a experience teacher do anticipate the timing really well. They know how much time they need to give students for their reading and discussion. Also, in the lesson plan, you might want to anticipate any language problems that might happen within the class. You need to come up with the resolution for the problems. Otherwise, it does not make any sense to anticipate problems.
