This unit is about Teaching Pronunciation & Phonology. Pronunciation is probably neglected by most teachers, but it's very important if you want your students to speak accurate English. It will make people confused when students can't pronounce correctly. In phonology part, intonation is extremely important: rise/ fall, fall/rise, and flat. Different pitches can express different meanings. There are many ways teaching students: nonsense words, by gesture, humming or singing, and the board. Another one is stress. We can stress different parts of one sentence to emphasize. I learned that when I am teaching phonemic symbols, showing students the position of the tongue and mouth is important and vivid for students to know exactly how to pronounce.
