In this unit we read about the four basic skills needed to learn a language; reading, listening, speaking and writing. The differences between them and how they all play a part in the learning process. All are equally important and it explains the different reasons for reading and listening; for example, for pleasure or for a purpose. It also explains how we listen and what the different methods are; for example, predictive skills, scannig, skimming, detailed information and what we can deduce from the content. It gives some great ideas on how to best teach and keep your students engaged.
