Manager or controller: T-S in front talking clearly and
Organizer: giving instructions, grouping students, initiating activities, and giving feedback
Assessor: fair and consistent, sensitive to student reaction and supportive.
Prompter: when students loose the thread of what they are doing, a teacher should decide if he will encourage and push or will leave them to do it on their own
Participant: to share as if a student, but should not dominate or attract the attention
Tutor: more personal role, usually when students are doing individual activity. Take care not to intrude too much.
Resource or facilitator: be helpful and available but not to spoon feed
Model: A teacher should model pronunciation to his/her students
Observer or monitor: during observation, keep a distance to avoid student distraction
About learners: very important factors are:
Willingness to listen and ask questions
Desire to live the new language and learn
