This unit was a good refresher of what is expected from a good teacher. The description of different roles taken by the teacher was explained in a proper manner. The factors about being a good learner were also explained in a clear and concise manner. Culture and First Language, although has an effect on the mode of teaching, but it can´t be stereotyped based on region. For example, not all asian students are lacking in creativity. I am from India, and I can tell you that in my school we were encouraged to be creative and ask questions. We used to come up with ideas like quiz competitions and plays to improve diction and grammar. At the same time, respect for teachers is not confined only to asia either. There are disrespectful students and respectful students in all parts of the world. I have studied in India, I have tought in India, I have worked with British and Australian Comapanies and I have tought in Chile. So I am speaking from my experience.
