In this unit, the characteristics of a good teacher and those of a good student were described.
In the case of the teachers, the emphasis was put on how their main focus must be the learner. At the same time, it was explained that teachers may perform different roles depending on the particular needs of the class.
Regarding the students, the different interests for learning English were mentioned. Students were also classified in different levels, and the main characteristics of those levels described.
The main aspects that I learnt from this unit has to do with what is expected from students in relation to their interests and levels. As teachers, we must be capable of recognizing the different needs of students and perform diverse roles so to fulfil them. We must adapt our methods and be conscious of the people we teach, because their learning process is the most important thing.
