Personally speaking this unit was functional. "Phonetics" sounds like a very scary expression and many acccording to the text avoid teaching it, however it is very fun I am not an expert on the matter, teaching phonetics should very rewarding for it has the "element of surprise" into it, writting words with the IPA would complicated at first therefore very challenging to learn but once it has been learned it would make any lesson interesting for everyone.
