course books and other materials
it is usually up to the teacher and school system to use which types of materials for the students. some systems prefer to just use books, some created materials and syllabus by the teacher and others a balance of both.
using each of the above has its own advantages and disadvantages.
for example using course books is good and helps to have a tried and graded system but it can also limits the teacher's creativity. it is suggested that the teacher has a balance in using both the course book and other materials. the teacher should omit some lessons which he or she thinks does not really fit the level of students. he or she can replace some lessons or supplement some others. it is also probable that the teacher adapts some lessons.
sometimes the teacher can use his or her own types of materials based on the level of the student. it can be easy to achieve by experienced teachers but with the novice ones is completely hard and almost impossible to manage.
the best way is to have a balance between course books and other authentic and created material created by the teacher.
