I liked this unit and found the instruction straightforward and can see the direct benefits in teaching. I found the breakdown of what students need to know about a new vocabulary word particularly useful and insightful. I like the idea of keeping it simple and using words they are familiar with, will likely come in contact with or that relate to a word in their language. I am curious as to how using name brands with near universal awareness, like Coke, Kleenex, etc. would work in introducing the bade like soda or tissue.
