The unit is about how to teach students either individual or a group. Initially the topic were about beginners and how to teach them . Any beginner can be an absolute, false ,adult , young and those without Roman alphabet. There are many ways we can help the beginners. We have to aware of what they really need . Gradually encourage them get use to the native's pacing. However, make sure that they wont be intimated. We can have chorus repitition and pair work ,best is group work. To make sure they understand , teachers need to ask questions . Since beginners might lose their motivation because of difficulty we have to encourage them all the time. How to keep the motivation burning the teachers have to correct appropriate times, not all the time. Allow them to see the book but not depending in looking at them. The atmosphere you give has to be easy and accommodating. There is discussion of teaching students individually.To avoid getting dull, predictable classes it was suggest that the teachers has the control of the classes to have consistent dynamics in the class. Giving homework is encourage not to put burden or added work for them but make the homework interesting . I teach business /career lesson online and this unit helped me do better . Its not as different as what the tips on teaching business classes its just that this one has to be more extensive. You have to make sure that they can maximize their time . You have to align their goals to your activity. On separate discussion was about analysis. I think as an online teacher i can relate this to how we categorize our students to levels. We have what they call trial classes .We check their 4 skills, READING,SPEAKING, LISTENING AND WRITING. The analysis in the course mentioned that it goes like a questionnaire or could be a simple chat .They can identify specific objectives of the course and get them prioritize.Then list the right /great objective,activity and material. There is an evaluation that students can elicit reactions.Then materials should be not too easy and not too difficult. The monolingual and the multilingual class has great advantage for the application of using English has to be imposed to have unity in ideas.
