they are equally important but unfortunately the second one is neglected most of the time for different reasons. writing is the most difficult skill of language. in teaching both of the above skills the teacher should have clear aims and knows that the students have enough knowledge to participate or make them ready to participate. in teaching speaking different activities are done before, during and after the task. during the task there are controlled, guided and creative activities which help to improve both accuracy and fluency. in the study phase accuracy is focused whereas in the activate phase fluency is focused. in teaching writing spelling, handwriting and punctuation are important. teaching writing has also its own activities such as controlled and creative ones.
