In Unit 3, different methods of teaching were given with a brief introduction. The usage of each methods has its pros and cons and knowing when to use which one depends on specific circumstances as well. However, it is important to consider that the main objective is to get the learners to grasp the point of language in which the teacher is trying to teach. TESOL’s preferred approach is the ESA (Engage, Study and Activate), with various activities recommended for each stage with a flexible style of order as long as it starts with Engage and ends with Activate. At the end of the class, the importance of giving feedbacks as well as the techniques on correction are discussed as well. It will be useful to experiment different exercises and find the suitable ones for each level to help make the students’ learning experience more interesting.
