Teachers should be kind and patient, have knowledge about the subject, need to motivate students, but the most important thing is that they should care about their teaching, but even more about learning the students. I also learned about the different roles of the teacher in the classroom, such as manager/controller, organize, accessor, prompter, facilitator and so and the importance of being able to switch from one role to another whenever needed during the class or activity. The next aspect that I enjoyed even more was about the learners and some of the characteristics they should posses, such as willingness to learn, desire to experiment, willingness to ask questions... However, even if they have all these characteristics, there are more differences between the learners depending on their age, learning experiences and their level of English. In general young learners (that are also separated in three groups) tend to be less motivated that the adults. Speaking about the language level, learners are divided into 6 groups: Beginners, Elementary, Low--Pre intermediate, Intermediate, Upper intermediate and advanced. I also learned about the Common European Framework which states 6 levels named: Breakthrough, Waystage, Threshold, Vantage, Effective Operational Proficiency and Mastery. In conclusion I would like to say that learners have various motivations to learn the language and that the relationship between teachers and students is complex. However, teachers should do their best and to do their homework, because by knowing the right motivation, the right starting level of the student, the right approach and the right role they could have the opportunity to be called " good teachers" and have "good students".
