Unit 9 is about Course Books and Lesson Material. There are two types of materials: Authentic materials and Created materials. Authentic materials are anything a native speaker would hear or read so it is not perfect for beginner students. Created materials are usually designed the teacher to replace or supplement materials from a course book.
Course books usually consist of a set of materials: Student's book, Workbook, Cassettes, Teacher's book, Video.
This unit helps me to know how to choose suitable materials for my lesson and for the students.
