Books and Materials
This unit presents a very clear description about what really happens in the classroom concerning the use of books and materials. On one hand books can always help a lot, especially when you as teacher do not have enough experience in the classroom and on the other hand the use of materials as a dedicated tool to use depending on different situations and opportunities. I think this a very dynamic and sensitive issue that is constantly subject to changes, and as exposed in this chapter I believe depends a lot on cultural aspects, level of English of the students and /or special needs of groups.
I also agree that most part of the time you as teacher do not have the opportunity to select the book to use, but then you can search for authentic or created material to help meet the necessities of a specific group.
