One of the primary lessons that I acquired from the content of this unit is the importance of identifying a student’s motivation and then nurturing that motivation for success. The language levels proved to be very useful as well because I was always aware of the varying forms of language comprehension but now I have proper terminology to go along with it. I believe that it is very important for educators to be enthusiastic, patient, kind, and knowledgeable on the subject. In addition, they will need to be able to identify and effectively accommodate a student’s needs. I loved how this unit addressed what motivates good learners as well as what differentiates adult learners from young learners and how their motivations can differ drastically. I think it is also very interesting how the teaching professional must interchangeably take on several roles within the classroom in order to nurture success. This is yet another reason why teaching professionals should always be patient and knowledgeable in order to maintain a certain level of authority and reliability with their students.
