I realized in this unit that penmanship is important in writing. I would not have originally listed this as an important skill, but looking back on how I learned English, I realize that I spent large amounts of time writing out and rewriting out my name and individual letters. I also realized how writing and speaking and interlinked because they are based off of everything that students have learned to read and listen to. I would not have originally paired reading and listening together and speaking and writing, but it makes sense after studying lesson plans about both - which is really cool to see the whole picture of how a new language is taught effectively.
