In this unit, I have learned that when teaching a second language to students, the teacher should always be understanding and caring. The teacher must treat all students equally, and to be a leader at times, and to let the students lead one another on their own and assist if they need help. The teacher should not always be involved because it does not give the students the confidence to learn on their own. The age groups make a big difference on how the students should be approached. Adults are willing to learn and question things they do not understand, children will want to learn if they are motivated, and young adults are very self-conscious. Each age group should be approached a bit differently, but should feel comfortable and confident to ask questions.
