I have found this unit to be thought provoking since much of the material covers delicate nuances in classroom management that can very much affect teacher/class rapport. For me, it has emphasized the need to put professional considerations above personal temperament or convenience. Personal temperament can come into play when dealing with disciplinary matters; the unit shows how this can be controlled. In a large class with many different names that may sound unfamiliar, it can be a matter of convenience for the teacher to persistently to use those he/she knows.
