This unit gives a very general overview of the possible challenges of teaching specific demographics of students. These demongraphics may include very young learners or older learners (e.g. professional business English language learners). There may also be groups - depending on the school - that are multicultural in their student population and have students that do not have a common language to speak other than English. Above all, this lesson stresses the importance of ASSESSMENT of NEEDS based on the class and the individual students within the class. Some students may require very specific English vocabulary, while others already have the vocabulary but are, instead, working on fluency and proper sentence stucture.
