Unit one is claiming about “Teachers and Learners”, their qualities, roles and responsibilities in the classroom.
Qualities are the prominent characteristics that help to distinguish an active and good teachers and learners from weak and inactive ones. A good teacher should possess qualities such as: being kind and patient, love his/her job, be professional in his/her field, and have a good communication with the class, be supporter and motivator for the students.
A good learner can be considered by the main qualities such as a desire to learn, willingness to experiment with the language, willingness to learn, listen and asking questions about the language and etc.
Teacher play a key role in the classroom, as he/she needs to manage or control students during both teacher centered classes and students centered classes. Furthermore a superior teacher needs to be a good organizer, assessor, propter, participant, tutor, facilitator, observer and etc.
To consider a good learner a teacher should pay attention to various aspects like: age, culture, language level (from beginner to advance) and motivation for it. As well learning experience of the students, their nervousness, language awareness, behavior problems, life experience need to be considered by the teacher.
To sum up, the relation between a teacher and a learner is very significant. A good teacher should always encourage and motivate his/her students, be a good supporter for them. As in order to have good students the teacher should be good at first.
