This unit was a very helpful review of sentence structure. When I studied English in grade school I spent most of my time working on sentence composition and identifying parts of speech, so much of the content of this lesson was somewhat familiar. However, I did learn what a gerund is (as I've never understood if I should consider a traditional verb to be a noun or not, depending on its usage in a sentence) until this lesson. Breaking down sentences into individual parts of speech is a good excercise in identifying how English is properly expressed. The parts of speech most emphasized in this section were nouns, verbs, adjectives (modify nouns), adverbs (modify adjectives or verbs), pronouns, and articles.
