The purpose of this unit was to inform the educator of the various theories, methods, and techniques used in EFL classrooms. The chapter gives an in-depth breakdown of appropriate activities for the numerous methodologies involved in lesson planning. A thorough discussion of the three elements of the ESA, Engage-Study-Activate, methodology, as well as several examples of the activities that are commonplace for this type of teaching method. Out of the units so far, I feel that this has been the most informative as to what teaching an EFL class will be like and has given me numerous ideas for future activities, especially in terms of types of word exercises. The “Straight Arrow” lesson will be the best choice for the classroom unless I teach a higher learning level of pupils.
