In this unit I learned about teaching pronunciation and phonology. Some of the key points in the unit focused on covering and defining intonation, syllable stress, the phonetic alphabet, phonemic symbols, and articulation. The most useful information, in my opinion, in this unit were the diagrams depicting the various parts of the mouth and throat necessary for proper articulation. Even though I can properly pronounce words in english, seeing what I’m doing externally can help me to better explain how others can mimic my native accent.
