I have found this unit to be particularly helpful in assessing the level of difficulty a particular vocabulary item presents to students: the factors to be considered in deciding which vocabulary items to pursue: how to approach the teaching of structures. To some extent this has been a matter of re-visiting and re-articulating what I have done already: I have taught all levels from false beginners to English Specialists. In doing so, however, I have been able to link the material presented here to the appropriate CEFR criteria. This unit has also obliged me to re-visit and refresh the various permutations of ESA.
