This lesson briefly described various teaching techniques, their possible applications, pros and cons. Some teaching techniques and methods are more suitable for younger learners or for lower level students (such as word games, drawings, pronunciation drilling, spelling exercises), while there are activities which are only suitable for advanced students (discussions, story/essay writing, true/false exercises etc.). To keep the students engaged and active during the class, the right choice of activities is very important. Moreover, correction of mistakes and errors was discussed as well as the importance of providing feedback. Giving feedback is almost necessary to both students, so they can evaluate their progress and success and the teacher, in order to evaluate if the objectives of the lesson has been achieved and how the students liked the activities.
I found this unit very inspiring and useful as it provides a lot of tips and suggestions to make lessons engaging, fun and effective at the same time.
