Similarly to Unit 4, the content of this section was familiar to me, but also served as a helpful review. The differentiation between how verbs are used in the context of the past tense resembles how we form sentences in the present tense (at least in the context of sentence structure). For example, for the verb "to bake," we would say "He baked" (past simple), "He was baking" (past continuous), "He had baked" (past perfect, and "He had been baking" (past perfect continuous). Prior to these units, I had not realized how many irregular verbs we have in the English language (to buy, to catch, to eat, etc.) that make verb conjugation more difficult than we may think.
