Unit 11 focuses on receptive skills and explains how reading and listening are important in learning. It states several skills that students use while reading or listening. Then, it discusses the problems that students face when they read or listen to something and what teachers should do to avoid those problems. For example, pre-teaching difficult words to make it easier for the learner to understand the content of an activity. I have learnt that teachers need to focus on selecting understandable listening and reading materials that students would be interested in and choosing activities that would help students understand the topic of the lesson.
