This unit teaches the past tense in English. Like in the present tense, the past tense is broken into four forms. First, the past simple, then the past continuous, followed by the past perfect, and finally the past perfect continuous. The chapter goes over the uses of each form, along with the necessary vocabulary for describing the grammar structures to students. The past perfect continuous, the unit notes, is less common both in daily use and in English education. But it can be a helpful form nonetheless.
