This unit was useful in explaining the difficulties student experience with pronunciation and why that is the case. There are too many exceptions which is why the rules are hard to understand. Nonetheless whilst pronouncing correctly words don't seem important, learners, do feel that it is important and the teacher had to find a way to teach this effectively. I believe that it should be incorporated into all lessons and taught incidentally a don't just as one lesson for it to have constant relevance because most non English speakers will need this drilling all the time. IT is also important to understand why certain dialects are different which is explained by the phonetic charts and drawings given. If students can understand which parts of the mouth is used for the different sounds they will understand pronunciation better.
