This unit gave a general overview of parts of speech in such a manner and to an extent as to provide the reader a general description and review as to allow the reader to be able to recognize and classify parts of speech independently. However, as noted in a few sections of the unit, there are certain more difficult parts of speech that will be covered more thoroughly in following units. After finishing this unit, I feel that I have indeed learned from the section what the introduction proposed - the understanding of basic parts of speech, and the ability to both recognize and classify them. Furthermore, as the introduction to the unit stated, as a native speaker of English who is currently teaching English as a foreign language, I have been made constantly aware of the common quality of native speakers to take our "inner intuition" and ability to use English grammar perfectly, without actually understanding it ourselves or being able to explain grammar rules effectively. As such, I feel that this unit's grammar overview has reminded me of rules that I intuitlvey understand, and I feel more confident and able to explain these rules to my current students.
