This unit is about the various methods a teacher may implement and how to structure their lesson plan. Their are three optimal phase to teaching English as a second language. The first phase is to engage. This primarily about building interest in the student, motivating them, and preparing them to be receptive to the incoming information. Second is the study phase. This is the meat of the lesson where new concepts are introduced, old concepts are practiced, and errors are corrected. The third phase is the activate phase. This where students try utilize the concepts they've learned in a natural way.
