In this unit, the videos show a teacher with two different attitudes, manners and teaching styles. In the first video, the teacher was unorganized, confused and unprepared. He had a negative attitude that affected the students’ performance. He showed no interest in his students. He started the engage phase in a wrong way. He confused his students and made them feel uncomfortable. The fact that he kept checking his papers gave the impression that he didn’t know what the lesson was about. When he started a game with his students, he didn’t give any instructions and made it boring and confusing for them. The way he corrected their mistakes was wrong. He addressed students when correcting their mistakes. On the other hand, the second lesson was a success. The teacher showed interest in students and got to know their names. He had already prepared his lesson on the board. He brought materials with him to elicit words from students. The teacher didn’t point at students when correcting their mistakes. The lesson was enjoyable and organized. I have learnt from this unit that the attitude and teaching style of a teacher is important and has a great impact on students performance.
