This unit was about teaching special groups, including beginners, individuals, children, and ESP. The levels of beginners was given, and methodology and techniques for teaching were discussed. From this unit I learnt that individual students usually move through material faster than groups tend to. The language growth process was mentioned, and how it is used in teaching. Children are curious, but have short attention spans. The disciplinary problems that may arise from this were discussed. The dos and don'ts for teaching were listed. How to teach English for specific purposes was elaborated on. The wide variety of clients use a needs analysis to determine how the course will be structured. A needs negotiation is done in class. Things to consider in teaching business English was listed. The differences in teaching monolingual and multilingual classes were discussed.
