This unit gives an overview of the ways of evaluating students' English level, such as tutorials, evaluation by students, and tests. Then more details are provided for tests. Even though students tend to find tests repulsive, tests can be good aids for students' progress. By preparing tests, they can study more efficiently; by taking tests, they can check the weaknesses and improve more specifically. Teachers should help the students form a positive attitude towards tests.
