One of my hardest struggles is teaching my students to read and listen. I currently teach First Grade at an International School and I every week I teach a new reading and reading comprehension skill. From week to week, I have students who master these skills and then I have students who take months to learn comparing and contrasting characters. As an ESL teacher, it is important to have the students practice their reading and reading comprehension skills but in a different way. If my students aren't mastering the skill then maybe I need to look at myself as a teacher, and think can I teach it in a new way or am I not engaging them in the skill. I really enjoyed seeing the different types of lessons to help we learn new ways to activate, engage, and study with my students.
