This unit was really engaging for me, especially for doing an online certification. I loved that I could look at two lessons and see the very observable differences between them, which really highlights the things some of the other lessons have been saying about classroom management and lesson planning, but also just for getting a more real-life example of how all of these things work together to make an effective, fun teacher. The videos showed me that the attitude a teacher brings into the classroom can really make or break a class. For instance (while not recommended) I'm convinced that even if the same exact lesson was presented as the first video, if he had done the class with a smile and the same attitude as the second, the class would not have been as whole of a failure as it was, the students may still have taken something away. Having materials to aid in teaching can be a real life-saver, especially when the students perhaps don't fully understand the activity (like invent an animal of your own) that's a slightly more difficult concept to get across, especially when the students perhaps don't know any of that vocabulary (invent, imagine, fake, etc.), so having an example or two or even having the students say things animals can/can't do and then drawing a possible permutation of what that might look like as far as characteristics, in other words, doing the activity all together as a class on the board first, might have helped in this regard.
