Unit 1 taught me about the basic characteristics good teachers and good learners possess. It dives deeper into the different roles a good teacher has within his or her classroom and how to effectively perform these roles. This unit also explains differences in aspects such as motivation and learning patterns when looking at the different age groups. Matters such like dealing with the previously mentioned differences between the different age groups are also explained. Lastly, unit 1 gives information about the different levels of learning english. This is done through splitting the learning process into several caregories and defining them so that they can be applied to the required method of teaching. The information seemed very important to me as I expect things like the teacher's roles and learner levels to be of importance in later units.
