This unit was concerned with lesson planning. The unit discussed whether lesson should be planned, and the conclusion was that most teachers will have some form of plan; as to have a clear aim in lessons, to have something to refer to in class, and to have a record for themselves as well as any teacher who might have to take over a class. The basic principles of lesson planning were given, mainly to keep it simple and flexible. I learnt how and why to be organised for class. A sample lesson plan was provided, and each area included was discussed. How to monitor your lesson was mentioned, and a sample self-evaluation form was given. The main points to consider in planning a sequence was discussed, and flexibility is as important as in planning a single lesson.
