Unit number six provides s keen observation of past tenses system. Past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous are observed here. Moreover each of them has auxiliary verb. Three types of sentences are discussed namely, affirmative, interrogative and negative. Past simple is usually used for finished action in the past. Past perfect describes an action which happened before other past action and usually had result in the past. Past continuous is used for durable action at the particular time in the past. Past perfect continuous expresses action which began in the past and still continues.
